Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
The Research and Development team is seeking a highly motivated and energetic college senior, or recent college graduate, for a 14-week, paid internship in the areas of biology and chemistry within the field of medical diagnostics.

The incumbent will work closely with Scientists and Product Design Engineers to help develop biological components for diagnostic equipment. Additionally, this intern will have the opportunity to validate clinically relevant pharmacogenetic tests while working with the assay development team to develop, test and validate assay and sample preparation protocols.
bullet Rising Senior or recent graduate from a BS program
bullet Ability and desire to work for a 14 week period from May to August 2010
bullet At least one year lab experience working on research project
bullet Familiarity in one of the following areas: nucleic acid purification, quantitative PCR, and assay development
bullet Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
bullet Excellent verbal and written communication skills
bullet Must possess strong work ethic and be able to work well within a team as well as work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
