| Takayoshi Hanagata was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Canon U.S. Life Sciences in early 2006, and has served as a Canon executive for close to 40 years. |
 |
| Today he also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Canon Virginia, Inc. (CVI), located in Richmond. Before being named President of CVI in 2003, he held the positions of President of Canon Business Machines Group Executive for Canons Bubble Jet Printer Business Group Senior General Manager of Canons Peripheral Development Center and General Manager of Canons Printer Development Division. |

| Hanagata joined Canon in 1968, first working in the Camera Groups Research & Development Division, where his efforts contributed to the introduction of the worlds first portable calculator. Hanagata holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology
(1967). |
